SIOUXLAND MEN'S CAMPAIGN AGAINST VIOLENCE KICKS

Sioux City, IA, Spring, 2004– The
Center for the Prevention of Violence and the
Waitt Family Foundation join the Family Violence
Prevention Fund in kicking off the Men's Campaing
Against Violence in Siouxland. Men who signed
the pledge, contribute to violence prevention
education and awareness efforts throughout the
Siouxland area. Ted Waitt, Gateway founder and
chairman of The Waitt Famlily Foundation, is
honorary co-chair of the Siouxland Men's Campaign,
working with his brother Norm Waitt Jr., they
encourage all Soiuxland men to be part of the
movement. "It's an issue I'm personally committed
to," Waitt stated.
The campaign is based on the Family Violence
Prevention Fund's "Founding Father's Campaign" launched
in June of 2003 which featured a full-page advertisement
in the New York Times. The ad featured
the names of 350 prominent men nationwide who
have made a commitment to the issue of violence
and have pledged to carry the message to their
homes, business and communities.
